Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my bluetooth need to be turned on to use the TO Ice Breakers app?

The TO Ice Breakers application uses Bluetooth devices called "Beacons" in order to determine when your device is in proximity to an installation. In order for your device to detect those beacons, Bluetooth must be enabled. The application does not use your Bluetooth connection for any other reason, nor does the application pair with the beacons.

I am not receiving content notifications from my TO Ice Breakers app. What’s wrong?

The TO Ice Breakers mobile application uses your phone's Bluetooth sensor and Location Services setting to determine when you are near one of the Icebreaker installations. Please ensure that both Location Services and Bluetooth are enabled.

I am not receiving content or notifications, and I have turned on location services/Bluetooth. What next?

You will not receive messages from the TO Ice Breakers application while viewing installation content. Close any open content page to receive new proximity content when visiting a new art installation location.

Does this application require a data connection?

All functions of the TO Ice Breakers application rely on an active data connection. In order to submit your entry to the Porter Airlines giveaway, your device will require access to an active data connection.

When I tap on the icons in the map, why do I only see blank text boxes?

The TO Ice Breakers application requires an active data connection to access content. If you are seeing empty boxes, this is usually an indication that your device is not connected to the Internet. If you encountering empty boxes with a verified internet connection, please contact the application developer at dev@ap1.io.

I have a question or issue that was not addressed above. Who can I contact for help?

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the TO Ice Breakers app, please contact dev@ap1.io.
